Go up 2 to 5 cm in diameter for pots under 25 cm and 5 to 10 cm for bigger ones. Succulents like a snug pot (2 to 3 cm bigger), fast growers can jump more. Tall floor plants need a pot at least a third of their height wide so they do not tip over. Soil volume is worked out from a tapered pot shape.
